Working with teams

Team facilitation

Enabling dynamic outcomes
What is it and who is it for?

Facilitation is the ‘act of making something easier’. At times it can be helpful for a team to have an independent pair of eyes to support a complicated outcome or help with a challenging issue that needs to be debated widely.

This is for teams that want to work on agendas of their choice where an external facilitator will bring a coaching style of facilitation to ensure the best outcome for the team.

Benefits

Facilitation can enable teams to navigate strategic themes and challenges, such as;

  • Carry out a review of how they are operating

  • Develop a strategy or enable a planning process

  • Plan and manage a future change or develop a roadmap

  • Identify priorities of work across the team for the forthcoming period (eg quarter or annual)

  • Develop its identity and purpose

  • Resolve a particular conflict or difficulty

Our Approach

An experienced facilitator will manage the process and shape the space to allow the team to develop their thinking but does not normally get involved with the content or team performance.

We manage the process and provide techniques to enable their thinking, innovation and brainstorming. We normally facilitate a session over a 1 - 2 day (or ½ day) event in your location or offsite.

Team building

Energising team formation and development

When a team is first established, there is seldom enough attention paid to building foundations, ways of working, fostering strong relationships and establishing team norms. However, if attention is not paid to these areas, a team is unable to function at its best and performance is negatively impacted.

What is it and who is it for?

Team Building is a process that helps newly formed teams break through the 'forming' and norming' stages of team development and move toward becoming a highly cohesive and effective team.  For established teams, Team Building can rejuvenate connectivity and purpose.

Through our carefully designed team building experiences, we aim to transform groups of individuals into unified teams ready to tackle any challenge with confidence, creativity, and a collective sense of purpose.

Benefits

Team Building activities help the team members understand and relate better to each other and help them address a variety of outcomes, such as;

  • when they are new teams to help them ‘form’ well

  • to take time to explore their relationship dynamic

  • to explore and improve their diversity and application of that to their objectives

  • to enhance team member engagement through trust building and positive working relationships.

  • to share information in a variety of styles suitable for all

Our Approach

Our team building events are designed to be immersive, ranging from a half-day to multi-day off-site retreats. The choice of an off-site location is deliberate, chosen to facilitate a break from routine, stimulate fresh thinking, and highlight the organisation’s investment in its team members.

Activities are hands-on and varied and can range from outdoor team challenges that test both physical and mental agility, interactive engagement exercises, the application of psychometric tools to enhance relationship intelligence, and social activities that bond the group.

Team development

Enhancing team capability

Our team development programmes are designed to enhance the collective capability and capacity of team members, helping them to grow together, progress through the team development stages, improve team maturity, and learn together to achieve collective performance. By focusing on behavioural and psychological aspects of team development, we provide teams with the knowledge and support necessary for effective collaboration and growth.

What is it and who is it for?

Team development enhances the collective capability and capacity of team members, helping them to grow together, learn together and achieve improved collective performance.

Team Development is ideal for those teams that want to improve their performance, take time out of their busy schedules and learn together in a psychologically safe environment.

Benefits

Outcomes of effective Team Development can result in;

  • Helping the team to address dysfunction across interpersonal team dynamics.

  • Improving the skill level of the team and how it works together to harness those skills.

  • Building trust and psychological safety and encouraging such routines to be adopted into ways of working.

  • Boosting team motivation and engagement for sustained productivity.

  • Guiding teams towards higher performance, especially in areas like feedback culture, change management, communication and resilience.

Our Approach

Through a diagnostic conversation with the team manager or commissioner, we identify the developmental needs of the team and meet these needs with evidence-based theory, learning and methodology.  We may use approaches from team building, theoretical frameworks, psychometrics, and themed content.

By focusing on behavioural and psychological aspects of team development, we provide teams with the knowledge and support necessary for effective collaboration and growth. Our team development events can be a one-off event, but for optimum results we recommend a series of development sessions, ranging from half-day interventions to multi-day off-sites.

Team coaching

Elevating team performance

Now, more than ever, organisations are aiming to encourage the best performance from their teams, to enable them to respond effectively to unprecedented change and uncertainty. By working with a team over a sustained period of time, a personal team coach can elevate the team performance, enable them to rise to the challenge and deliver exceptional results.

What is it and who is it for?

Systemic Team Coaching is a holistic approach that considers the team as a whole in its context - its commission, task, dynamics and stakeholder relationships.  The outcome of Team Coaching is to foster a higher-value creating team with improvements in morale, alignment, processes, well-being and performance.

Team coaching is beneficial for established teams who are looking to make a sustainable impact within the system in which they operate.

Benefits

Integrating team coaching into an organisation can:

  • Enable teams to navigate & adapt to the challenges of today’s hyper- complex and fast-changing world.

  • Embed team-based thinking into every level of the operation - from the individual to the ecosystem - ensuring organisations stay relevant during any major transition.

  • Facilitate teams to work with each other, with stakeholders across the organization and those parties outside the organization they may depend upon.

  • Enable leaders to optimise and mobilise teams more effectively in hybrid & virtual environments.

  • Provide best practices and tools for establishing new teams &/or handling complex team cases in your organisation.

Our Approach

Our Systemic Team Coaching approach uses core frameworks for developing High Performing Teams.  It involves coaching the team together - the client is the team and not the individual leaders who make up the team.  It can often include one-to-one coaching for individuals in support of the collective team outcomes and team live action coaching.

We have a 5 step process which starts with the scoping, followed by an inquiry (normally some diagnosis interviews) then we co-create the development agenda with the team.  We execute the team coaching over the agreed number of sessions and enable continuous review and evaluation.
